What People Are Asking...
Does my dog HAVE to know dog obedience to be part of the class?
No dog obedience is needed. We do basic commands in the class and will teach you the commands if your dog does not already know them. If you think your dog is too crazy and not trained well enough--that is MORE reason to come to class. We have watched crazy dogs make huge improvements in our classes. Sometimes, the dog just needs a little structure to calm him/her down.
I understand how the dogs can do
cardio, but what about
other dog exercise?
The dogs are put into a stay during the one-minute strength and balance intervals. Using dog obedience during the exercise class not only makes them a better behaved dog, but also mentally tires them.Your dogis just happy to be with you, instead of at home while you are at the gym! **If your dog can not sit still for a minute, the instructor will help you until Fido is tired enough to sit down, sometimes it takes a few intervals.
Why are the classes so expensive compared to my gym membership?
Comparing our program to a gym is like comparing apples and steak. They are two completely different things. When you go to a gym, you still have to go home and exercise and train your dog. Our classes save you time by combining an effective full body workout, dog obedience, a "family" of participants that support and help each other in many ways AND if you do the unlimited classes: dog yoga, hikes, yappy hour classes, etc. What other program offers all of that? Even the other bootcamp classes in town will not provide all of that and they charge more than us! Most of our participants cancelled their gym membership because they MUCH rather be with their dog, especially after leaving them all day for work.
I can’t make it at the times provided,
are there any other class times?
We are happy to
put together semi-private trainings for you and your friends, neighbors, family and/or co-workers if you have a time and place in mind that would works better for you. Please contact us to get started!
How old does my dog have to be to come to class?
Your dog must be at least 6 months old to participate and have all of the required vaccinations: rabies, bordatella and distemper.
Why should I pay to come to a class, when I can walk my dog for free?
Not many people are going to put themselves through an organized non-stop hour workout that incorporates strength, balance, cardio, yoga and dog obedience. Each class is lead by professionals who will make sure you push yourself so that you and your dog get a safe an effective workout.
Does my dog have to be leashed during the class?
Yes,
we have to keep control of all dogs during the entire class. That is why it is called “LEASH Your Fitness”
My dog barks at other dogs when on a
leash, is that going to be a problem?
Most of the time since ALL of the dogs are on leash, it is equal territory and there isn't a problem. The dogs get to become friends and after a couple of classes the barking should subside. Plus, the class is set up to tire out fido both mentally and physically so he/she won't have time to think about barking!
Can I bring more than one dog to class?
Sure!! You can bring as many dogs as you want as long as you have your friends or family sign up for classes to workout with the extra dogs!! Your friends AND your dogs will love you for it! Only one dog per person, once you take the class—you will see why!
